iOS 17 Contact Sharing Not Working, How to Fix?

With the release of iOS 17, Apple has unveiled several impressive features and customizations, including new and unique contact posters on an iPhone, allowing users to create a contact card for their contacts within the phone app using images, filters, monograms, and Memojis.

Before heading to the troubleshooting tricks, make sure that you have enabled or activated iMessages using your phone number. Otherwise, you will not be able to use the Contact poster feature. 

# Send a Message:

If you are facing issues regarding contact sharing, then firstly, you can try to send a message to your friend. Once you have sent a message to your friend, then

  • Open the Messages app on your iPhone.
  • Tap on the Compose button at the top right corner.
  • Under the To section at the top, enter the name or number of the contact for which you are unable to see the contact poster.
  • Now send the person an iMessage.
  • Wait until you see the profile picture appearing at the top of the chat.
  • Tap on that image in order to retrieve the new contact picture as well as the poster.
  • Now, in order to re-check if your contact has shared their contact picture and poster with you, tap on their name in iMessage on iOS 17.
  • Tap on the Info button to see their new photo and poster. Here, you will also be able to see the Shared by tag within the Contact Photos and Posters section.

# Check whether your iPhone supports iOS 17 version or not:

If you are experiencing that the contact posters are not working on your iPhone, the first thing you need to do is to make sure that the iPhone you are using currently is compatible with iOS 17. This is because the contact poster feature is only available with iOS 17, so if you have not updated your iPhone to the latest software version, then you can do that by just heading to the Settings app >> General >> Software update.

# Check whether Show My Caller ID is enabled or not:

In order to prevent the malfunctioning of the contact posters, it’s essential that you must check whether you have enabled the Show My Caller ID option or not. To do so, follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  • Scroll down and open the Settings of the Phone app.
  • Now tap on the Show My Caller ID tab.
  • Tap on the toggle next to the Show My Caller ID option to turn it on. 

# Create a new contact poster:

Even after trying the above-mentioned tricks, nothing is working to resolve your issue. Then you can try deleting the contact poster and then create a fresh one. 

  • In the Contacts app, select your Contact card at the top right.
  • Here, tap the Contact Photo & Poster option. 
  • Then click the Edit button under your Contact Poster settings.
  • Swipe up on your contact poster to display the trash icon.
  • Then tap on the Delete icon in order to remove your contact poster.
  • Now since you have deleted your contact poster, you can now create a new one.
