Apple iOS 17.1.1 Update Fixes NFC Issues Caused by BMW Wireless Chargers

Apple unveiled the new iOS 17.1.1 update in the form of a quick fix to the problem that has been acknowledged as the issues that were to be resolved with the iOS 17.2 update, along with fixing plenty of known bugs that have been encountered recently.

The newly launched iOS 17.1.1 update arrives to fix a weird bug in iPhone 15 models. Some iPhone 15 users have reported in the recent past that while trying to charge their iPhone 15 phone using their BMW’s wireless charging capability, certain glitches began occurring within the NFC feature, including Apple Pay, which leads to the disability of these NFC features.

It was reported by MacRumors that NFC glitches are occurring within the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, respectively, when charging them wirelessly in some of the BMW as well as Toyota Supra cars.

According to Apple’s iOS 17.1.1 update,

“This update provides bug fixes for your iPhone, including:

  • In rare circumstances, Apple Pay and other NFC features may become unavailable on iPhone 15 models after wireless charging in certain cars.
  • The weather Lock Screen widget may not correctly display snow.”

Another fix, which was rolled out by Apple with the iOS 17.1.1 update, is for the weather widget on the lock screen where the snow icon was not showing anything but just a file icon.

In addition to the iOS 17.1.1 update, Apple also rolled out several other software updates, including macOS Sonoma 14.1.1 update, HomePod 17.1.1 update for fixing the slow responses of the virtual assistant Siri, watchOS 10.1.1 to resolve the excessive battery draining issue in the Apple Watch and much more.
